The geotechnical assessment prepared for the proposed single family residence located at 250 E Union
Height Drive Union,has been received and reviewed by Public Works.
The assessment appears satisfactorily address to County requirements for geotechnical reporting. The
assessment's author indicates that,the proposed development of the property has an average slope of 25
percent, and underlain by well-cemented Vashon glacial till. The property is stable and will not cause
stability problems for either the subject property or neighboring properties. There is a 9 feet tall cut slope
in the west of the property with a minor sloughing and erosion. A reinforced concrete retaining wall was
recommended by the author to stabilize the said slope. The proposed retaining wall and storm water
management should be incorporated into the site plans and made conditions for permit issuance.
Adequate erosion and sediment control features need to be implemented during land disturbing activities,
to protect neighboring properties and state waters from adverse storm water run off impacts. The
migration or release of silty water or mud from the applicant's property will be considered a violation of
County and State water quality protection regulation.
