Tahja, P/W - Co. Hydr. Engr. SUB,I: Land Modification- Grading Review NAME: Mason County Parks Dept. RD97 0004 RL 97 0047 Review of the Grading Permit Application and Resource Lands& Critical Areas Checklist by Public Works raises minor concern. The proposed grading area is relatively flat and the proposed grading will result in little or no change to area drainage. Mr. Bruce Irwin, Mason County's Parks Director, has been to the Public Works office to discuss possible changes to drainage patterns through the neighborhood, but has been advised of his obligation to receive stormwater runoff where it naturally enters the park site, and also has some right to discharge stormwater to existing drainage courses. Mr. Irwin is also in contact with Mr. Allen Eaton, one of the County's maintenance supervisors, and improving existing conveyances is being investigated to help reduce potential impacts from the proposed fill activity. Mr. Irwin informed me that erosion and sediment control features are being employed at the site to minimize off-site impacts from the grading activities. I have visited the site in the past with Mr. Irwin, and feel the proposed volume of fill is an acceptable estimate at 400 cubic yards of material. Please feel free to contact me at County extension 461 if you have additional questions or if I can be of further assistance. S' cerely, Alan A. Tahja----- File: H:\WP\GRADING\UNION-P.RVW
