In preparing the site for construction as vegetation is cleared if there are concerns the Engineering firm need to be contacted. Adequate Erosion and Sediment (E&S) control features need to be implemented during land disturbing activities to protect neighboring properties and State waters from adverse stormwater runoff impacts. The migration or release of silty water or mud from the applicant's property will be considered a violation of County and State water quality protection regulations. We recommend no further action is needed unless areas of concern are unearthed during construction or damage ensues from construction. The parcel is to be developed with a single- family residence. I k Rd \ 1 „ 1 rrin SITE CONDITIONS The subject parcel is located along an eastern facing slope, approximately 6 miles west of Shelton, Washington. The site will be accessed from a driveway of Shelton Matlock Road. The subject site is located in an area of increasing residential development. Residential parcels have been developed to the east, west, and south of the proposed building site, and the Simpson Timber Company railway borders the property to the north. The steepest natural portion of the site has slopes approaching 31 percent; the overall slope is approximately 19 percent. Soughing, rutting, or other indications.of erosion were not observed on the site. The other slopes are well vegetated with plant species common to the Northwest. Rapid stream incisionk..- was not identified at the site. A seasonal, non-fish bearing drainage crosses the parcel at a distance greater than 150 feet. _- Slope instability was not discerned onsite or on adjoining parcels. GEOLOGIC CONDITIONS ,y The Geologic Map of Washington —Northwest Quadrant(2002) = ,� _ .A has mapped the site geology as glacial till deposits (Qgt) of �'`• "'_ continental glacial origin. The report reads: % , - Till— Unsorted, unstratifled, highly compacted mixture of �r clay, silt, sand, gravel, and boulders deposited by glacial •e!. ice; may contain interbedded stratified sand, silt, and gravel. Includes part of the Vashon Dry undivided. 10011 Blomberg Street SW,Olympia, WA 98512 5 Phone#: (360)754-4612 Fax#: (360)7544848 GEOTECHNICAL TESTING LABORATORY The Soil Survey of Mason County, Washington, USDA Soil Conservation Service (1960) has mapped the site soils as Lystair sandy loam with slopes from 0 to 5 percent (Ld), Lystair sandy loam with slopes from 5 to 15 percent (Le),and Norma sandy loam with slopes from 0 to 3 percent. The Lystair sandy loam with slopes from 0 to 5 percent(Ld) is described as follows: This is the most extensive Lystair soil; it occupies gentle slopes in association with other Lystair soils. In forested areas a 1- to 2-inch layer of loose, partly decomposed needles, leaves, twigs, roots, cones, and moss is on the surface. The mineral surface soil is very friable, single-grained, brown (dark reddish-brown when moist) sandy loam, 4 to 5 inches thick. It contains firm or slightly hard, irregularly shaped aggregates that are stained by iron, and, in addition, there are a very few shot. The next 12 inches of soil has the same texture but is very friable, massive to single-grained, and slightly lighter in color. The subsoil, between 16 and 27 inches, is very friable, single-grained, reddish yellow (reddish-brown when moist) loamy sand containing no shot. Below the subsoil is the substratum, which, to a depth of 36 inches, is a massive, light yellowish- brown sand that is firm in place but breaks easily into single grains. It contains much gray and dark-gray sand. Below a depth of 36 inches, the substratum is a variegated light olive-brown and grayish-brown sand. It is massive in place but readily crumbles to loose, single-grained material Faint yellow and reddish-brown mottles occur irregularly. A few pebbles are in the profile, especially where this soil merges with the Grove or Shelton soils. The soil is medium to slightly acid and is less acid with depth. The Lystair sandy loam with slopes from 5 to 15 percent(Le)is described as follows: The surface layer of this soil is brown to light brown, and it is slightly more variable, in depth than Lystair sandy loam, 0 to 5 percent slopes. There is slightly more runoff because of stronger slopes. Site conditions for the proposed development do not warrant a more comprehensive Geotechnical Report. We recommend no further action is needed unless areas of concern are unearthed during construction or damage ensues from vegetation clearing. If there are any changes in the loads, grades, locations, configurations or types of facilities to be constructed, the conclusions and recommendations presented in this report may not be fully applicable. If such changes are made, we should be given the opportunity to review our recommendations and provide written modifications or verifications, as appropriate. The report has been commissioned by Rachel Williams. The parcel (6.95 acres) is located off the West Shelton- Matlock road in Shelton, Washington. (See site aerial photos below). The site is approximately 6.5 miles west- northwest of Shelton, Washington. The site will be accessed from a private easement located at the adjacent parcel south of the subject site. We understand that the parcel is to be developed with a garage. Current land use includes a residential building and a detached garage is proposed. The existing septic drain field is located on the south east portion of the parcel and is approximately 55 feet away from the existing house. The approximate layout of the site is shown on the Site Plan, Figure 2. The steepest slope measured onsite was approximately 33 percent in a road cut in the southeast section portion of the project site. This slope is located to the southeast of the existing building and proposed construction. A seasonal stream(Type F)runs through the property and the approximate center line of the stream has been located in the site plan (attached at the end of this report as Figure 2). A 165 feet setback is required for the proposed construction from the Type F stream and has been clearly marked on the site plan. Therefore, Mason County requires that a geological assessment be prepared in accordance with the Critical Areas Ordinance. The Mason County Resource Ordinance Geologically Hazardous Areas(12-27-2006)contains the following: 17.01.100 Landslide Hazard Areas E. Special Reports 1.Applicability Category d. Development proposed within 300 feet of areas with slopes between 15 percent (8.5 degrees) and 40 percent (21.8 degrees) will require a Geological Assessment, and may further require a Geotechnical Report upon the findings of the assessment. 10011 Blomberg Street SW,Olympia,WA 98512 5 Phone#: (360) 754-4612 Fax#: (360) 754-4848 GEOTECHNICAL TESTING LABORATORY SITE CONDITIONS At the project site, exploration was conducted on September 21, 2008 by Vijay Chaudhary. The purpose of the site inspection was to physically observe the property and adjacent properties to identify geologic and geographic conditions. Photographs and field observations were documented. Site-specific features were mapped, and vegetation noted. The site is well vegetated with plants common to Northwest except in the cleared areas where grass and shrubs are present. The site consists of a residential building. The site is well vegetated except for the cleared portion where the proposed garage and the existing house are located. The site has a predominant southeastern exposure and is well vegetated. Site elevations range from approximately 280 to 320 feet. The drainage is dominated by a stream channel trending roughly east-west across the center of the property which discharges to the west. The site plan is included as Figure 2 at the end of this report. No evidence of active surface erosion was observed. No surface water flow was observed onsite outside of the stream. No ponding of water was observed throughout the site. Slumping and sloughing was not observed throughout the site. No evidence of deep-seated slope instability was observed onsite. No seeps or springs were observed onsite. Onsite trees were observed to be straight and vertical. The closest mapped wetland is located approximately 1500 feet southeast of the subject site. The closest upland water body specified as Type F seasonal stream by Mason County located north of the proposed structure. The structure will be constructed with a 165 feet setback from the Type F stream. None of the water bodies will impact the construction and the construction,with adequate protection measures, such as silt fences,will not affect the streams. Logan has mapped the geology as Proglacial and Recessional Outwash, Late Wisconsinan (Pleistocene) (Qgo) of continental glacial origin. The report reads: Proglacial and recessional outwash, late Wisconsinan (Pleistocene)— Typically poorly to moderately sorted, rounded gravel and sand with localized coarser- and finer-grained constituents; lithologically varied mixture of mostly northern provenance clasts, especially containing granitic and metamorphic rocks that identify the unit as being deposited by the Puget lobe of the Cordilleran glacier; also contains varying amounts of locally derived Crescent Formation basalt, and in the Mox Chehalis Creek valley, central Cascade Range— derived andesitic clasts; typically shades of gray where fresh or brown where stained especially in proglacial and morainal areas; buff staining near the ground surface;fine sand, silt, and clay constitute local overbank sediments having relatively poor permeability or deltaic foreset bedding along north sides of valleys with higher permeability; porous and permeable enough to yield small to moderate quantities of groundwater; very poorly consolidated to loose; moderately to well-rounded clasts; mostly unweathered with rare weathered reworked clasts; thickness varies and is not well known; most commonly occupies outwash channels scoured into or through till. Geologic Map of Washington— Southwest Quadrant (1987) by Walsh et al has mapped the site geology to be Qgo, (Undifferentiated glacial drift) of continental glacial origin. The description reads, Undifferentiated glacial drift—Clay, silt, sand, and gravel; contains moraines and mixtures of till and outwash not separately mappable. Consists of part of the Vashon Drift The site appears to be in the boundary region of Qgt and Qgo in the printed literatures as referenced above. There is slightly more runoff because of stronger slopes. All layers of the soil are porous. GROUNDWATER CONDITIONS Groundwater seepage was not observed at or near the proposed building location. Wetland vegetation was not observed at or near the proposed building location. Research of the local wells indicates that depth to static groundwater is relatively shallow and ranged from 10 feet to 14 feet below ground surface for well logs reporting the static water level. DEPTH TO COMPETENT SOIL The building location is upon a site where the Lystair sandy loam has been removed to the underlying Qgo. This material is liable to be loose and unsuitable for construction unless adequately watered and compacted. PAST SLOPE INSTABILITY Surrounding the subject site, trees were observed to be straight and vertical. No indication of past instability was discerned at the site. At the site the slopes are between 10 and 33 percent and no signs of instability were observed. HISTORY OF LANDSLIDE ACTIVITY No historical landsliding was observed during our site investigation onsite or near the subject parcel. At the proposed building location,the slope is compact and dense. Onsite trees are straight and vertical. POTENTIAL FOR LANDSLIDE ACTIVITY This site has no indication or record of old or recent landslide activity. Even though natural slopes approach near 33 percent,the potential for landslide activity is not a concern for the proposed development. The Liquefaction Susceptibility Map of Mason County, Washington by Palmer, Magsino, Poelstra, Bilderback, Folger, and Niggemann(September 2004)maps the site area as having a very low liquefaction potential. The Site Class Map of Mason County, Washington by Palmer, Magsino, Bilderback, Poelstra, Folger, and Niggemann (September 2004) maps the site area as site class C to D. Proposed activities and site conditions for the development do not warrant a more comprehensive Geotechnical Report. We recommend no further action is needed unless areas of concern are unearthed during construction or damage ensues from removing vegetation. To minimize erosion and sedimentation,we recommend that vegetation remain or be cultivated in areas outside the building location. We recommend verification of site compaction before the footing is placed to assure the soil is suitable for construction. If there are any changes in the loads, grades, locations, configurations or types of facilities to be constructed, the conclusions and recommendations presented in this assessment may not be fully applicable. If such changes are made, we should be given the opportunity to review our recommendations and provide written modifications or verifications,as appropriate. Changes to the Mason County Code may require our firm to revisit the subject site prior to development, if six months has elapsed,to ensure the conditions are in agreement with our original report. REPORT LIMITATIONS AND GUIDELINES FOR USE We have prepared this report for the exclusive use of Rachel Williams and her authorized agents for the proposed lot short subdivision in Mason County, Washington. Site inspections, research, and mapping have culminated in this report. This report is intended to meet the requirements of the Mason County Critical Areas Ordinance. This report does not specify setbacks for: line-of-sight setbacks, FWHCA setbacks, eagle tree setbacks, wetland setbacks, or property line setbacks. Within the limitations of scope, schedule and budget, our services have been executed in accordance with generally accepted practices in the field of geotechnical engineering in this area at the time this report was prepared. No warranty or other conditions,expressed or implied, should be understood. READ THESE PROVISIONS CLOSELY Some clients, design professionals, and contractors may not recognize that the geoscience practices(geotechnical engineering or geology) are far less exact than other engineering and natural science disciplines. This lack of understanding can create unrealistic expectations that could lead to disappointments, claims and disputes. The parcel is to be developed with a single- family residence. i E A4a 1H i 7J k Rd x � _ I 1 i SITE CONDITIONS The subject parcel is located along an eastern facing slope, approximately 6 miles west of Shelton, Washington. The site will be accessed from a driveway off Shelton Matlock Road. The j subject site is located in an area of increasing residential development. Residential parcels have been developed to the east, west, and south of the proposed building site, and the Simpson Timber Company railway borders the property to the north. The steepest natural portion of the site has slopes approaching 31 percent; the overall slope is approximately 19 percent. Soughing, rutting, or other indications of erosion were not observed on the site. The other slopes are well vegetated with plant species common to the Northwest. Rapid stream incision was not identified at the site. A seasonal, non-fish bearing , drainage crosses the parcel at a distance greater than 150 feet. Slope instability was not discerned onsite or on adjoining parcels. GEOLOGIC CONDITIONS The Geologic Map of Washington —Northwest Quadrant (2002) +A has mapped the site geology as glacial till deposits (Qgt) of _ L . �`•�+= > continental glacial origin. The glacial till(Qgt) is described as: Unsorted, unstratified, highly compacted mixture of clay, silt, sand, gravel, and boulders deposited by glacial ice of the Puget lobe; gray; may contain interbedded stratified sand, silt, and gravel; sand-size fraction is very angular and contains abundant polycrystalline quartz, which distinguishes this unit from alpine till; cobbles and boulders are commonly striated and (or)faceted; although unweathered almost everywhere, may contain cobbles or small boulders of deeply weathered granitic rock. The Geologic Map of Southeastern Mason County, Washington, USGS Water-Supply Bulletin 29 by Noble and Molenaar (1970) describes the site as Recessional Outwash. The Recessional Outwash (Qvr) is described as follows: Recessional outwash:gravel with some sand, silt, and clay. Most gr ay. Mostly poorly sorted and loose, but has deltaic bedding along north sides of some valleys. Overlies till in depression on drift plains. Where it occurs in sufficient thickness below local water table, it yields small to moderate quantities (50—250 gpm)of groundwater. The Geologic Map of the South Half of the Shelton and South Half of the Copalis Beach Quadrangles, Washington(1987)by Logan maps the site as Vashon Outwash(Qov). The Lystair sandy loam with slopes from 0 to 5 percent(Ld)is described as follows: This is the most extensive Lystair soil; it occupies gentle slopes in association with other Lystair soils. In forested areas a 1- to 2-inch layer of loose, partly decomposed needles, leaves twigs, roots P Y P g , > cones, and moss is on the surface. The mineral surface soil is very friable, single-grained, brown (dark reddish-brown when moist) sandy loam, 4 to 5 inches thick It contains firm or slightly hard, irregularly shaped aggregates that are stained by iron, and, in addition, there are a very few shot. The next 12 inches of soil has the same texture but is very friable, massive to j . single-grained, and slightly lighter in color. The subsoil, between 16 and 27 inches, is very friable, single-grained, reddish yellow (reddish-brown when moist) loamy sand containing no shot. i Below the subsoil is the substratum, which, to a depth of 36 inches, is a massive, light yellowish- brown sand that is firm in place but breaks easily into single grains. It contains much gray and dark-gray sand. Below a depth of 36 inches, the substratum is a variegated light olive-brown and grayish-brown sand. It is massive in place but readily crumbles to loose, single-grained material Faint yellow and reddish-brown mottles occur irregularly. A few pebbles are in the profile, especially where this soil merges with the Grove or Shelton soils. The soil is medium to slightly acid and is less acid with depth. The Lystair sandy loam with slopes from 5 to 15 percent(Le)is described as follows: The surface layer of this soil is brown to light brown, and it is slightly more variable, in depth than Lystair sandy loam, 0 to S percent slopes. There is slightly more runoff because of stronger slopes. Wetland vegetation was not observed at or near the proposed building location. Research of the local wells indicates that depth to static groundwater is relatively shallow and ranged from 2.5 feet to 20 feet below ground surface for well logs reporting the static water level. f DEPTH TO COMPETENT SOIL The proposed building location is underlain by well-cemented Vashon glacial till. Competent soil can be expected approximately 12 to 20 inches below the existing ground surface. PAST SLOPE INSTABILITY Surrounding the proposed building location, trees were found straight and vertical. No indication of past instability was discerned at the proposed building location or throughout the site. Adjoining parcels display similar signs of stability as the subject site. i HISTORY OF LANDSLIDE ACTIVITY No historical landsliding was observed during our site investigation onsite or near the subject parcel. At the proposed building location,the slope is compact and dense. Onsite trees are straight and vertical. POTENTIAL FOR LANDSLIDE ACTIVITY This site has no indication or record of old or recent landslide activity. Even though natural slopes approach 25 percent,the potential for landslide activity is not a concern for the proposed development. The Liquefaction Susceptibility Map of Mason County, Washington by Palmer, Magsino, Poelstra, Bilderback, Folger,and Niggemann(September 2004)maps the site area as having a very low liquefaction potential. The Site Class Map of Mason County, Washington by Palmer, Magsino, Bilderback, Poelstra, Folger, and Niggemann (September 2004) maps the site area as site class C to D. Site conditions for the proposed development do not warrant a more comprehensive Geotechnical Report. We recommend no further action is needed unless areas of concern are unearthed during construction or damage ensues from vegetation clearing. If there are any changes in the loads, grades, locations, configurations or types of facilities to be constructed, the conclusions and recommendations presented in this report may not be fully applicable. The report has been commissioned by Rachel Williams. The parcel (6.95 acres) is located off the West Shelton- Matlock road in Shelton, Washington. (See site aerial photos below). The site is approximately 6.5 miles west- northwest of Shelton, Washington. The site will be accessed from a private easement located at the adjacent parcel south of the subject site. 46 qr a �y. ^_ Terraserver Aerial Image Mason County GIS Aerial Image Our understanding of the project is based on our discussions with the client. We understand that the parcel is to be developed with a garage. Current land use includes a residential building and a detached garage is proposed. The existing septic drain field is located on the south east portion of the parcel and is approximately 55 feet away from the existing house. The approximate layout of the site is shown on the Site Plan, Figure 2. The steepest slope measured onsite was approximately 33 percent in a road cut in the southeast section portion of the project site. This slope is located to the southeast of the existing building and proposed construction. A seasonal stream(Type F)runs through the property and the approximate center line of the stream has been located in the site plan (attached at the end of this report as Figure 2). A 165 feet setback is required for the proposed construction from the Type F stream and has been clearly marked on the site plan. Therefore, Mason County requires that a geological assessment be prepared in accordance with the Critical Areas Ordinance. The Mason County Resource Ordinance Geologically Hazardous Areas(12-27-2006)contains the following: 17.01.100 Landslide Hazard Areas E. Special Reports 1.Applicability Category d. Development proposed within 300 feet of areas with slopes between 15 percent (8.5 degrees) and 40 percent (21.8 degrees) will require a Geological Assessment, and may further require a Geotechnical Report upon the findings of the assessment. 10011 Blomberg Street SW, Olympia,WA 98512 5 Phone#: (360)754-4612 Fax#: (360)754-4848 G EOTECHNICAL TESTING LABORATORY SITE CONDITIONS At the project site, exploration was conducted on September 21, 2008 by Vijay Chaudhary. The purpose of the site inspection was to physically observe the property and adjacent properties to identify geologic and geographic conditions. Photographs and field observations were documented. Site-specific features were mapped, and vegetation noted. The site is well vegetated with plants common to Northwest except in the cleared areas where grass and shrubs are present. The site consists of a residential building. The site is well vegetated except for the cleared portion where the proposed garage and the existing house are located. The site has a predominant southeastern exposure and is well vegetated. Site elevations range from approximately 280 to 320 feet. The drainage is dominated by a stream channel trending roughly east-west across the center of the property which discharges to the west. The site plan is included as Figure 2 at the end of this report. No evidence of active surface erosion was observed. No surface water flow was observed onsite outside of the stream. No ponding of water was observed throughout the site. Slumping and sloughing was not observed throughout the site. No evidence of deep-seated slope instability was observed onsite. No seeps or springs were observed onsite. Onsite trees were observed to be straight and vertical. The closest mapped wetland is located approximately 1500 feet southeast of the subject site. The closest upland water body specified as Type F seasonal stream by Mason County located north of the proposed structure. The structure will be constructed with a 165 feet setback from the Type F stream. None of the water bodies will impact the construction and the construction,with adequate protection measures, such as silt fences,will not affect the streams. The site is very well vegetated with species common to northwest. a — --� . Logan has mapped the geology as Proglacial and Recessional Outwash, Late Wisconsinan (Pleistocene) (Qgo) of continental glacial origin. The report reads: Proglacial and recessional outwash, late Wisconsinan (Pleistocene)— Typically poorly to moderately sorted, rounded gravel and sand with localized coarser- and finer-grained constituents; lithologically varied mixture of mostly northern provenance clasts, especially containing granitic and metamorphic rocks that identify the unit as being deposited by the Puget lobe of the Cordilleran glacier; also contains varying amounts of locally derived Crescent Formation basalt, and in the Mox Chehalis Creek valley, central Cascade Range— derived andesitic clasts; typically shades of gray where fresh or brown where stained especially in proglacial and morainal areas; buff staining near the ground surface;fine sand, silt, and clay constitute local overbank sediments having relatively poor permeability or deltaic foreset bedding along north sides of valleys with higher permeability, porous and permeable enough to yield small to moderate quantities of groundwater; very poorly consolidated to loose; moderately to well-rounded clasts; mostly unweathered with rare weathered reworked clasts; thickness varies and is not well known; most commonly occupies outwash channels scoured into or through till. Geologic Map of Washington— Southwest Quadrant (1987) by Walsh et al has mapped the site geology to be Qgo, (Undifferentiated glacial drift) of continental glacial origin. The description reads, Undifferentiated glacial drift---Clay, silt, sand, and gravel; contains moraines and mixtures of till and outwash not separately mappable. Consists of part of the Vashon Drift The site appears to be in the boundary region of Qgt and Qgo in the printed literatures as referenced above. SITE SOILS The Soil Survey of Mason County, Washington, USDA Soil Conservation Service (1960) has mapped the site soils as Lystair sandy loam with slopes from 0 to 5 percent (Ld) and Lystair sandy loam with slopes from 5 to 15 percent(Le). The Lystair sandy loam with slopes from 0 to 5 percent(Ld) is described as follows: This is the most extensive Lystair soil; it occupies gentle slopes in association with other Lystair soils. In forested areas a I- to 2-inch layer of loose, partly decomposed needles, leaves, twigs, roots, cones, and moss is on the surface. The mineral surface soil is very friable, single-grained, brown (dark reddish-brown when moist) sandy loam, 4 to 5 inches thick. It contains firm or slightly hard, irregularly shaped aggregates that are stained by iron, and, in addition, there are a very few shot. The next 12 inches of soil has the same texture but is very friable, massive to single-grained, and slightly lighter in color. The subsoil, between 16 and 27 inches, is very friable, single-grained, reddish yellow (reddish-brown when moist) loamy sand containing no shot. It contains much gray and dark-gray sand. Below a depth of 36 inches, the substratum is variegated light olive- brown and grayish-brown sand It is massive in place but readily crumbles to loose, single- grained material Faint yellow and reddish-brown mottles occur irregularly. A few pebbles are in the profile, especially where this soil merges with the Grove or Shelton soils. The soil is medium to slightly acid and is less acid with depth. The Lystair sandy loam with slopes from 5 to 15 percent(Le)is described as follows: The surface layer of this soil is brown to light brown, and it is slightly more variable, in depth than Lystair sandy loam, 0 to S percent slopes. There is slightly more runoff because of stronger slopes. All layers of the soil are porous. GROUNDWATER CONDITIONS Groundwater seepage was not observed at or near the proposed building location. Wetland vegetation was not observed at or near the proposed building location. Research of the local wells indicates that depth to static groundwater is relatively shallow and ranged from 10 feet to 14 feet below ground surface for well logs reporting the static water level. DEPTH TO COMPETENT SOIL The building location is upon a site where the Lystair sandy loam has been removed to the underlying Qgo. This material is liable to be loose and unsuitable for construction unless adequately watered and compacted. PAST SLOPE INSTABILITY Surrounding the subject site,trees were observed to be straight and vertical. No indication of past instability was discerned at the site. At the site the slopes are between 10 and 33 percent and no signs of instability were observed. HISTORY OF LANDSLIDE ACTIVITY No historical landsliding was observed during our site investigation onsite or near the subject parcel. At the proposed building location,the slope is compact and dense. Onsite trees are straight and vertical. POTENTIAL FOR LANDSLIDE ACTIVITY This site has no indication or record of old or recent landslide activity. Even though natural slopes approach near 33 percent,the potential for landslide activity is not a concern for the proposed development. The Liquefaction Susceptibility Map of Mason County, Washington by Palmer, Magsino, Poelstra, Bilderback, Folger,and Niggemann(September 2004)maps the site area as having a very low liquefaction potential. The Site Class Map of Mason County, Washington by Palmer, Magsino, Bilderback, Poelstra, Folger, and Niggemann (September 2004) maps the site area as site class C to D. Proposed activities and site conditions for the development do not warrant a more comprehensive Geotechnical Report. We recommend no further action is needed unless areas of concern are unearthed during construction or damage ensues from removing vegetation. To minimize erosion and sedimentation,we recommend that vegetation remain or be cultivated in areas outside the building location. We recommend verification of site compaction before the footing is placed to assure the soil is suitable for construction. If there are any changes in the loads, grades, locations, configurations or types of facilities to be constructed,the conclusions and recommendations presented in this assessment may not be fully applicable. If such changes are made, we should be given the opportunity to review our recommendations and provide written modifications or verifications,as appropriate.
