NIMROD CLUB
FIRE SAFETY INSPECTION REPORT
A fire safety inspection of the Nimrod Club was conducted on 12/15/98.
CURRENT STATUS:
A 4026 square foot, V-N building. The building is approximately 50 years
old. Primary use appears to have been an assembly occupancy, used for
community and private organization meetings, and periodic food preparation
service. Based on past and current use, the assumed occupancy
classification is A-2.1 .
PROPOSED USE:
The applicant wishes to use the building as a dancing, dining and drinking
establishment. It appears that under the 1997 Uniform Building Code, this
proposed use is consistent with the assumed occupancy classification, and
therefore would not constitute a change of use.
On December 4, 1998, the applicant attended a pre-application meeting and
presented a proposed interior floor plan that would the include the creation
of areas for dancing, dining, and liquor consumption. Interior remodeling
would include some counter-height walls to define use areas and the
installation of cooking appliances.
FIRE CODE REQUIREMENTS:
1 . Provide lighted exit signs, hard-wired into a circuit, over each exit door.
2. Provide two (2) battery-backup emergency lights. One in the dancing area
and one in the lounge/dining area.
3. Provide panic hardware on all three exit doors.
