Dwight,
I walked the Mary Addleman site on Friday and I'm sorry to say that I can't approve this permit as
proposed. Basically most of the property north of where you flagged the stream, I believe, is tied in to
some sort of wetland complex. I don't know exactly what it is, but it looks jurisdictional.
There are two ways we can handle this-- I am willing to call this a Class III wetland with a 50' no cut
buffer. If you were to accept my call on this, it would remove from the harvest most of the property north of
the point that you flagged as a stream (and some below it). It looks like there isn't that much commercial
timber on the north end of the property anyway.
The other option would be for you to hire a qualified biologist to make an independent assessment of what
we are dealing with (basically to classify and delineate this wetland/stream complex). Chances are good
that the County would accept his or her findings.
If you would like to meet on site, I would be happy to do that too. Please confirm that you have received
