Dear Mr.Hieber,
Thank you for submitting the building permit application to finish the interior of Building"E"located at 50 W Westfield Ct in
Shelton,WA. In order to complete the building department review additional information will be needed which is listed below
PLAN REVIEW REQUIREMENT COMMENTS:
1. The tenant improvement plans specify that a 3-hour fire resistive fire wall will be constructed using an assembly that
is not consistent with site conditions. The 3-hour wall assembly is proposed where an engineered wood stud wall
shear wall is located. The details provided specify that the 3-hour assembly will be constructed in accordance with
GA file#2924 which is a tested assembly using steel studs. The firewall is required when fire flow is not provided
and mitigation is chosen to reduce fire areas such that no fire area exceeds 6000 sq.ft. Please provide tested assembly
details and information for the required 3-hour fire-resistive assembly including wall and openings such as doors,
ducts,etc.
2. A letter from the Washington State Liquor Control Board specifies that your business intendsto extract marijuana
'C using a COZ process. Details and information is not provided on the construction plans. Our office has created a
checklist designed to provide information identifying what we will need to approve the part of a building that will be
2. used for marijuana extraction. The checklist is enclosed. Please provide information and plans as directed in the
checklist.
V
3. The building is in the process of being constructed under Mason County building permit COM2014-00097. During
\ the inspection process the building inspector has noted that the truss engineering specifies that the bottom chord of the
IN
truss is designed for"0"live load. As such the truss system is not designed to support ceiling material such at gypsum
wallboard, lighting fixtures, insulation,or mechanical fixtures such as fans and ducting. Please provide information
g( identifying what will be installed and supported by the truss system and provide an engineers approval to install the
components in the ceiling.

The construction plans specify that 6-mil poly will be used on the ceiling. It appears that gypsum wallboard will be
used for wall coverings. Please provide the following information:
a. Provide manufacturer specifications for the 6-mil poly material
b. Provide information demonstrating that material meets the requirements of IBC Chapter 8 including flame
spread,and smoke developed ratings,
c. Provide information demonstrating that material will be fastened in such a manner that the materials will not

30-minutes(ref IBC 803.10),
d. Provide information demonstrating that material will be installed in accordance with it's intended use with
product mounting system or as approved otherwise. (IBC 803),and
e. Provide information demonstrating that material less than 1/4-inch thick will be applied directly onto the
ceiling,or structural element without the use of furring strips and shall not be suspended away from the
building element to which it is applied except where exceptions of IBC803.11.4.
5. MSDS sheets were provided with the permit application. Please identify the anticipated quantities of hazardous
materials and identify the location where the materials will be stored. When necessary provide compliance
information related to IBC 414,and containment information demonstrating compliance to the International Fire
