I left a voice mail for you today about this project. Over the weekend Marshall did a lot of excavating on the
property, finishing the driveway and the site for his home. This resulted in quite a steep drop off behind my
property. He excavated what my neighbor estimates is about 20 feet down from the edge of our property line. I am
uninformed about what is acceptable in terms of controlling erosion and landslides. but I am concerned that planting
grass is not going to be enough to hold the hill sloping down from my property line to his driveway. I freely admit my
concerns might not be valid, and I don't think Marshall is making frivolous decisions, but from my position this slope
is a little frightenining. I worry about hard continous rains next winter. I did send a note to Marshall about my
concerns and he outlined his plan to seed that slope. I just don't know if that is enough. Currently the entire area is
bare dirt, freshly excavated, and making me nervous even though the owner certainly seems to be knowedgable and
thorough.
Filing a complaint seems unfriendly and a step I am extremely reluctant to take. Is there another option? Will
someone be out to look at this and provide reassurance? Are there things I can do on my property to prevent
problems in the future? Who can advise me?
