FIELD INSPECTION REPORT GEIVERAL SERVICE

Frame on E line was inspected on 10 August prior to covering with sheet
rock, see report 8 dated 10 August. Inspected balance of structural steel
frame. Conducted a visual inspection of all connections and found based on
the visual inspection that all A325 bolts had been installed per the plans .
a l_1_ ircwe to footi_nq connections were t ight . Control of bolting was by the
turn of the nut method. We understand that a 1-inch diameter air impact
wrench was used by the erection subcontractor to tighten the bolts . We
inspected about 10% of the connections at random locations . We found the
flats of the nuts indicating that in fact a impcat type of wrench had been
used. We found all connections inspected to be tight and we could not turn
the nut using a wrench. Based on our visual inspection, it is our opinion
that the connections of the steel frames meet the project requirments .

RE: Water Infiltration Rate
Dear Mr. Williams:
David Strong of Bradley Noble Inc. performed a falling head
percolation test on your work site on Tuesday July 7 , 1992 .
The purpose of this test was to establish a percolation rate
for stormwater drainage calculations.
A. falling head percolation test measures the time it takes for
an inch of water to drop one inch i.. a pipe. The pipe is
erbedded into the soil in which the Sto.= water will drain
into. The procedure calls for soaking the around in which the
test is to be performed. In sandy soils soaking the soil is
not required. The soil at your location consists of sands and
gravel approximately 150 feet deep.
The water in the test fell 5 inches in 10 seconds. This worms
out to a percolation rate of 0 . 0332 minutes per inch. By
factoring the test percolation rate to account for stormwater
fines to clog the drainage path over time, and using the
minimum percolation rate allowablra a usdabla percolation rate
is 5 minutes per inch. The rate does not need any further
adjustment.
The swale used for stormwater transmission should be
maintained regularly to remove the accumulated fines.
