The Geological Assessment and addendum prepared for the proposed new residence at 10 East
Green Bluff Court near Belfair has been received and reviewed by Public Works.
The addendum was required to supplement one item in the initial Geological Assessment. The
addendum was received on 8/8/2006 by Public Works. The assessment indicates that the
proposed new residence project site has slopes ranging near 25%to the west. Deep ravines noted
in the report are not within 300 feet of the project area. The report notes the site is at no risk of
mass wasting events that could affect soil foundation support. The report indicates that there are
no objections based on geological considerations to the location of the new residence indicated on
the provided site plan. The author does indicate that they do not consider that the preparation of a
Geotechnical Report is warranted due to the site being underlain at shallow depth by highly over
consolidated soils.
The geological assessment appears to satisfactorily address County requirements for a geological
assessment reporting. A geotechnical report will not be required based on the author' s comments
and recommendations. Recommendations contained in the report should be incorporated into the
site development plans and made conditions for permit issuance.
Adequate erosion and sediment control features need to be implemented during land disturbing
activities to protect neighboring properties and State waters from adverse stormwater runoff
impacts. The migration or release of silty water or mud from the applicant's property will be
considered a violation of County and State water quality protection regulations.
