Description of Complaint:
From 2012 to 2015 1 complained repeatedly that the landowner illegally cut trees in riparian designated
as Critical Habitat.The site plan contained errors (few of the existing large conifers or big leaf maples
were listed on the site plan). When Grace Miller visited she indicated the area of illegal cut and
numerous freshly cut stumps were in view in the area illegally cut. She emailed the revegetation plan
and it included shrubs only, no trees.After this the landowner cut the few remaining small trees in the
illegal cut area. When I protested to Mason County I was told that they had no evidence that the trees
were cut by the current landowner although I provided before and after photos and before photos are
available on the County GIS website. No revegetation was ever done.The site currently is dominated by
evergreen blackberry and Canadian bull thistle.
