Dear Owner and Responsible Parties:
Our office received a complaint from the local fire district that the structure identified above was partially damaged
by fire and is currently vacant. The fire district is concerned that the damaged structure is deteriorating from lack
of maintenance and the structure to be dangerous to the public. A building inspector visited the site in order to
evaluate dangerous building conditions and to determine whether the structure meets the definition of a dangerous
building in accordance to Mason County Code, Title 14 and the 1997 Uniform Code for the Abatement of
Dangerous Buildings, Section 302. The site inspection was conducted on May 13,2011. During the inspection the
building inspector found that a fire had damaged the structure such that it may be necessary to demolish a part or all
of the structure and that the structure is secured from entry. Photos taken during the inspection are enclosed with
this notice.
Our office has been notified that the building has not been maintained and as such may meet the definition of a
dangerous building,when this is the case the owner shall be required to repair or demolish the structure. This
notice is sent to notify you of Mason County requirements and to start a discussion with you in order to identify
what your intentions are. Please contact our office so that we can discuss your plans and discuss what will be
necessary to repair the structure and avoid future enforcement actions.
