We have been retained to visit this site and review the soil log and make a
recommendation as to the suitability of the site for this Two Car Garage
wood frame structure. The Cross Section ( p 9 ) shows the structure twelve
feet into the toe of the slope. The foundation for this building has a
retaining wall on the back side. The excavated fill for this area will be
removed ( 70 cubic yards ).
The original residence was constructed in 1975. The Oien's have lived there
for the past 9 years. The site is 3.1 acres. The site is located on the west
side of a ridge that is pa=UW with the UasonlKitsap county line. The lots
adjacent to this site are developed. 1n general the lots are cleared in the
area adjacent to the residence with the balance of the lots timbered. ( See
P 3,4,5 ) We ,have also enclosed the .Mason County GJS .hazardous Map
which shows this are as moderate at the Zoom in 1:5000 scale. ( P S )
The soil log ( P 5 ) is silt sand gravel with cobbles to 2 diameter the sides
of the soil was compact and the sides of the soil log remainder vertical,
There was no water in the soil log.There are water bodies above this area.
Since this site was built 45 years ago, there are no water bodies above
this site, the adjacent sites are buitt out , the timbered-property to the north.
slope down and away to the north east.
It is our recommendation that this site is suitable for the proposed Two Car
Garage wood frame structure.
