1. ) SKOGLY CABIN. A cabin 11' X 26'6" is proposed to re lace an A-frame cab' The
cabin is for rustic camp housing and will have 4 be e'iectricity l;`uf no heat or
plumbing. The former A-frame (11' X 13' ) had 2 beds and electricity but nQ heat or
plumbing. It was built in 1965, and due to its deteriorating condition was torn down i
1997 by a group ,of United Way volunteers. The design for the proposed cabin was drawn
by the Bates Tec4nical College drafting department with the idea that construction would
be done by the Bates carpentry class. However, given the need to repInce thist bijilding
as soon as practically possible, the project may be bid out to a contractor.
2. ) BEAVER SLEEPING SHELTERS. The camping unit "Beaver' " -

approximately the same location as the existing shelters,
needed. The proposed shelters will be the same design as those built in another unit at
Camp St. Albans in 1991. The sleeping shelters are wood frame on poured rancrefe
pillars and have no plumbing, heat or electricity. The unit is used for seasonal rustic
camping. The flat terrain in Beaver's Acre makes this
disabled campers. One shelter will be constructed with ramp access. These shelters are
critical to the camp capacitV, particularly
