Representatives from the Building Department, Fire Marshal's office, Environmental Health, Planning, and Public Works departments may attend the meeting to discuss rules and regulations applicable to the proposed project. Topics covered during the meeting will include the comprehensive plan, shoreline program, zoning, availability of sewer and potable water, development concepts, building construction, fire protection and life safety of the proposed project. By providing the most accurate and detailed information on the application and site plan your pre-submission conference will be more informative. Pre-Submission conferences are held every Wednesday and last approximately one hour. Campers in Beaver shelters use vault latrine. ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: Both proposed projects are for seasonal rustic camp housing and replace same-use structures. The buildings are approximately in the center of a 414 ac e Replacing these structures are in the Girl Scout council's Long Range Land Use and Development Plan 1988 and the Strategic Plan for - 1. ) SKOGLY CABIN. A cabin 11' X 26'6" is proposed to re lace an A-frame cab' The cabin is for rustic camp housing and will have 4 be e'iectricity l;`uf no heat or plumbing. The former A-frame (11' X 13' ) had 2 beds and electricity but nQ heat or plumbing. It was built in 1965, and due to its deteriorating condition was torn down i 1997 by a group ,of United Way volunteers. The design for the proposed cabin was drawn by the Bates Tec4nical College drafting department with the idea that construction would be done by the Bates carpentry class. However, given the need to repInce thist bijilding as soon as practically possible, the project may be bid out to a contractor. 2. ) BEAVER SLEEPING SHELTERS. The camping unit "Beaver' " - adirondack style sleeping shelters that were built in 1956 and need to be replaced due to health and safety reasons. Five new open-air shelters. ' X 18' . to replace the existing shelters (14' X 24' ). Since the new shelters will go in approximately the same location as the existing shelters, needed. The proposed shelters will be the same design as those built in another unit at Camp St. Albans in 1991. The sleeping shelters are wood frame on poured rancrefe pillars and have no plumbing, heat or electricity. The unit is used for seasonal rustic camping. The flat terrain in Beaver's Acre makes this disabled campers. One shelter will be constructed with ramp access.
