Provide emergency vehicle access to all buildings. 2. Provide fire department access to on-site hydrants. 3. Prevent the spread of exposure fires. 4. Provide for unobstructed exiting from all assembly areas. 4. Reduce fire hazards. FIRE PROTECTION MEASURES 1. Provide a minimum 20 foot, unobstructed fire lane from the main vehicle entrance to, and around, the "core" buildings---Building 14, 16, 17. Target areas include Area D &L. 2. No OPEN FLAME DEVICES are allowed within any building. Exception: Propane cookers or grills may be used as long as the portable propane cylinder is 12 pound water capacity or less and is separated by 20' or more from other cookers or grills in the same building. 3. Provide a minimum 36"clearance in front of all electrical panels. 4. No open fires are allowed except in the designated fire pit across from the Public Safety building or in an approved portable fire pit. 5. All exit doors are to be kept clear and unobstructed. 6. Exiting in Building 22 is inadequate. Both sliding doors and the swinging door are to be kept unobstructed at all times. 7. No parking is allowed within 20 feet of any fire hydrant. 8. Occupied recreation vehicles shall be at least ten(10) feet from any occupied building. 9. Portable concession stands shall be at least six (6) feet from any occupied building. 10.Recreation vehicles shall be at least eight(8) feet apart when parked end-to-end. 11. No parking allowed within eight(8) feet of any aboveground electrical transformer. 12. No parking allowed within ten(10) feet of any stationary propane tank. 13. All cooking concessions shall provide at least one (1) 2A IOBC rated fire extinguisher. If cooking produces grease laden vapors a Class K type fire extinguisher will also be required. 14. Water-based fire extinguishers shall be provided around livestock areas when hay and sawdust are present. 15. Portable concession trailers that conduct cooking that emits grease-laden vapors are required to have a Class I Hood and a fire suppression system meeting UL 300 standards, and a class K type fire extinguisher. 16. Tents where cooking is performed shall be separated from other tents by a minimum of 20'. 17. In tents where vents or flues are used there shall be a minimum of 12" clearance around the vent or flue and the tent. 18. Propane gas containers shall be located outside (exception, see #2), properly secured and in an approved location. THE MASON COUNTY FIRE MARSHAL AND THE FAIRGROUNDS MANAGER WILL CONDUCT A FIRE SAFETY INSPECTION PRIOR TO THE PUBLIC OPENING ANY MAJOR EVENT. Oil base paint, stains, adhesives etc. • Combustible (III-B) liquid storage— 13,200 gals. Used motor oil. • Aerosols—500 lbs. Paint and Pesticides. • Latex Paint—N/A. • Auto Battery(corrosive) 100 gal. • Antifreeze (irritant) 500 gal. • Pesticides—25 lbs./25 gal. NFPA 704 Placard on side of building—Health Hazard 3, Flammability Hazard 3, and Instability Hazard 2.
