Dear Mr. Birgh:
The Planning Department has reviewed your request to remove a danger tree
from the above address. The cedar tree is located within the shoreline buffer
of Pickering Passage. It is growing within very close proximity to an
existing residence.
Planning staff has determined that the tree qualifies as a danger tree as
defined within the Mason County Resource Ordinance. You are hereby
authorized to remove the tree at this time. This determination is consistent
with the Mason County Resource Ordinance Fish & Wildlife Habitat
Conservation Area Chapter, (F)(5)(a). As mitigation, the cut tree should be
placed on the hillside as a nurse log.
