Your property is located immediately downhill on the east side of Bahama Drive. This location is also downhill from properties that are currently suffering from slumping and instabilities as reported to
Mason County Public Works(see the Mar.29,2013 email memo from the Mason County Stormwater Program Coordinator). A stormwater and drainage solution to those uphill properties is possibly
proposed for the north side of your property,as a way to safely convey subsurface drainage to the beach shoreline of Case Inlet at the east side of your property.
Your geotechnical consultant(hired for the permit review of the proposed residence)should once again be consulted in regard to a drainage conveyance on the slopes along Bahama Drive. I suggest that you
have your consultant discuss the solutions with the Stormwater Program Coordinator as noted in the email. A new amendment to the November 2011 geotechnical report and addendum used to review the
proposed home,should include the drainage solution to the properties in the Bahama Dr.vicinity. That way the most current conditions and facts can be used to further review the location of the proposed
new residence. Until this new amendment or revision of the November 2011 geotechnical report is sent to this department,further review of the residence is placed on hold.

Hi all,
Public Works met with a geologist yesterday to look at slide activity in Pirate's Cove, between
Barbary and Bahama Drive (see attached PDF).
The Taylor and Gray properties have decks that are not fully supported and the Gray property's
septic system may be compromised due to the hillside slumping. Gray's downspouts discharge just
above the slumping area and drainfield. They should be tightlined to the Bahama ditch. Taylor's
need to be tightlined as well.
The water system purveyor may need to be alerted, in the event that the hill continues to move and
threatens water lines.
Larry -you may want to take another look at the Marcelo property as well before that permit is
issued. There is some slumping either on that property or the one just to the north.
I've attached pics of recent road work along Bahama. The Taylor and Gray properties are located
above this work.
