Hello Stefan,
I was unsuccessful calling you because it wont let me leave a message so I thought I should contact you and let
you know that I spoke with John Dennehy today in our office.I approved his proposal to limb branches from a
young fir tree located on the Jeff Wood property, located at 382 E Pointes Drive East. He is going to cut limbs,
four whirls off, to allow view from the residence.This activity should not harm the tree and will not require a
Mason Environmental Permit. Please let me know if you have any questions.Thank you.

I have tree at 382 Pointes Drive E, on Hartstene Pointe that I wish to remove and the board has stated
that I need your approval because it is within 50 feet of the bluff. The tree was previously topped to
about 10' and now has the arms sticking up like you are "under arrest". The tree is 34' feet from the
nearest point on the bluff and there are other"nice" mature tees much closer to the bluff. I thought I read
on the internet that the distance requiring your approval was 30' and John Dennehy referenced that
number also. What do I need to do to get approval to remove this tree. It is also within the boundary of
my property circle.

Dear Jeff,
On Friday, June 13th the Board of Directors met and reviewed your request to remove
the small, previously- topped fir in your view corridor. Below is the excerpt from the
minutes concerning your request:
• "PRC recommends approval as submitted, contingent on owner/HPMA
receiving approval from Mason County, since the tree is over 8" dB and within
50 feet of the bluff edge. An alternate to complete removal could be removal of
the two impaired branches growing toward the house which would then leave a
remaining healthier branch growing upward on the south side of the tree. This
tree is within the view corridor and has two branches damaged by taunt nylon
strapping grown into branches since a previous topping. Refer to photo. This
branch removal option would not require County approval. This recommendation
is also contingent on receiving no objections from neighbors and posting.
If you decide to remove the two limbs, as suggested by the board, please let me know
so I can prepare a trimming permit for you.
