Dear Mr. Veitenhans:
As per our phone conversation last week, we have prepared this letter based on our original report,
addenda, and the information from Joseph M. Lucia, PE, sent to us by you. Three copies are provided for
your information and distribution.
The soil is capable of supporting the fence as designed. The original notes for retaining walls in the
original report should be honored; e.g. drainage and compaction. Backfill material will either have to be
a suitable import, or native may be used if it meets the criteria of gradation in ASTM. (This generally
hinges on there being less than 10%by weight of the—200 mesh fines.).
Inspections should be limited to concrete unless the county requires others.
Slopes above the wall should be finished to less than 40%grade. Greater slopes are acceptable if they do
not exceed 10 feet in height,as long as the overall slope is less than 40%.
We appreciate this opportunity to be of service to you and we look forward to working with you in the
future. If you have any questions concerning the above items, the procedures used, or if we can be of any
further assistance please call us at the phone number listed below.
