Alder Street (to accompany map dated 11/29/2021) A habitat survey was performed on September 24,2021 from approximately 11:45 am to 12:45 pm at the project site located at 261 E Stretch Island Rd.,Grapeview WA 98546. Darby Flanagan,Griffin Hoins, and Bryan DeCaterina of Marine Surveys&Assessments(MSA)surveyed the intertidal and subtidal zone using SCUBA along 12 survey transects in the area of a proposed pier-ramp-float to identify flora, fauna,substrate types and other qualitative information. The shoreline includes a rock bulkhead at the OHWM. An 8 ft x 8 ft swim float is at the site. The survey transect baseline was along the OHWM. Twelve transects were surveyed from the baseline and transects were oriented perpendicular to the baseline. Transects were each 200 ft long and arranged from northeast to southwest, or when looking at the water from shore, from left to right(T1 to T12). Morris-Ratterree Habitat Report MSA l 1 Transects were separated from each other by 10 ft and the survey covered the area of a proposed pier- ramp-float,including a 25-ft buffer around the float location. The substrate within the upper and mid-intertidal zones is sand,cobble, and pebble and transitions to sand and mud in the subtidal zone. The only macroalgae observed was 1-75% cover Ova.No eelgrass or kelp was documented at the site. The survey area included a 25-ft buffer around the proposed float. The percent cover of total macroalgae within this area is typically calculated to determine mitigation scenarios.This area had only Ova;because there is no documented herring spawning near the project location, Ova is not included in these calculations. Please note the depths in this report are for referencing habitat data only can have an error of+/- 1 ft.; these depths should not be used for engineering purposes.
