The existing 3-bedroom septic system was installed in 1993 and consists of a 1,200 gallon 2-compartment concrete septic tank with pump chamber followed by 270 l.f. (800 s.f.total)shallow pressure drainfield. The existing home is a 2-bedroom built in 1993 so the septic system still has excess capacity. The owner would like to tie the existing garage into the existing septic system. They plan to build out the upstairs level of the garage with a 1 bedroom living space apartment. Proposed is a new 1,000-gallon 2-compartment septic tank with a solids pump in the second chamber to send septic effluent through a 2" schedule 40 pipe into the existing septic tank and then pump to the shared drainfield. The existing septic system was recently serviced/pumped by Mike's Septic Services LLC on 9-22-23 and had no noted deficiencies. See report attached. There is an individual well onsite over 50' away from the tanks and over 100' away from the existing drainfield. There are no known setback issues.
