A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLIC TRANSIT BENEFIT AUTHORITY TO SUBMIT A
PROPOSITION TO THE QUALIFIED VOTERS OF MASON COUNTY AT THE GENERAL ELECTION TO
BE HELD ON NOVEMBER 8, 1988.
WHEREAS, the PTBA has approved submission of a proposition to the voters to
increase a sales and use tax for the purpose of providing public transportation
in Mason County; and
WHEREAS, adequate funds are needed to provide operation, maintenance, and
capital needs of a public transportation system; and
WHEREAS, RCW 82.14.045 allows the legislative body of Mason County who has
created the transportation benefit area to submit an authorizing proposition to
the voters; and
WHEREAS, The Board of Mason County Commissioners has received a
recommendation to authorize a proposition for an increase in the sales and use
tax for such services;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, The Board of Mason County Commissioners calls
for the submission cf the following proposition to the qualified voters of
Mason County at the general election to be held on November 8,1988 for their
ratification or rejection:
PROPOSITION 1
Public Transportation Benefit Area
Shal 1 the Mason County Public Transportation Benefit Area be authorized to
impose a sales and use tax not to exceed 3/10 of one percent E or 3C cents for
every One Hundred Dollars($100.00) spent or taxable items purchased in Mason
County for the purpose of providing Public Transportation in Mason County.
