WHEREAS, Mason County does not have a Traffic Safety School; and
WHEREAS, the County desires to establish a Traffic Safety School; and
WHEREAS, such a school is supported by the Mason County Sheriff's Office and
the Washington State Patrol; and
WHEREAS, such a school will benefit the residents of Mason County through
continuing education; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of said school shall be to instruct, educate and inform
all persons appearing for training in the proper, lawful, and safe operation of
motor vehicles, including the rules of the road; and
WHEREAS, there will be no cost to the Mason County Current Expense budget,
since the cost of the Traffic Safety School will be born solely by the persons
ordered by the District Court to attend the school.
WHEREAS, R.C.W. 46.83 authorizes the establishrnent of such schools.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED as follows:
Section I. AUTHORIZATION. The Mason County District Court is hereby
authorized to establish a Traffic Safety School.
Section II. ESTABLISHMENT. The Traffic Safety School will be established
according to the provisions of R.C.W. 46.83.
Section III. OPERATION. The Mason County District Court Judge shall meet
with the Mason County Board of Commissioners and the Shelton City Commission for
the purpose of establishing the financing, organization and operation under R.C.W.
46.83.010.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Trafffic Safety School Fund be established
as a special revenue fund, #13600, effective November 21, 1989 and the Mason
County Auditor and the Mason County Treasurer shall establish said fund in their
respective offices. The fund shall not lapse.
