Everyone was asked to stand for the Fledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America. Hotter, Aye; Johnson, Aye; Baze, Absent HEALTH OFFICER'S DEPORT BY Dr. Mark Trucksess Communicable Disease Summary for the month of October: 2 cases of Campylobacter 4 cases of Giardia 3 cases of Viral Meningitis 1 case of Streptococcal Meningitis MASON COUNTY BOARD OF HEALTH COMMISSIONER'S CHAMBERS MONTHLY MEETING NOVEMBER 8, 2001 PAGE 1 OF 3 1 case of Tularemia 1 case of Creutzfeldt-Jacob Disease Washington Correction Center Reported Diseases: 4 cases Hepatitis B 26 cases Hepatitis C 2 cases Positive PPD started Latent Tuberculosis Therapy. Second Quarter: HIV Testing 11 people tested STD Case Report: January to September 59 cases Chlamydia 4 cases Gonorrhea 3 cases Herpes 2 cases Early Latent Syphylis 2 cases Late Latent Syphylis Total Cases of Venereal Transmitted Disease Reported in Mason County 2001: 70 cases STATE ISSUED REQUIREMENT: College freshman students living in dorm should get the Meningococcal vaccine. EVENTS: 1. Table Talk Bio-Terrorism event Thursday afternoon at Sanderson Field. 2. Bio-Terrorism Grand Round at Mason General Hospital next Friday, November 16th at noon. Presented by Ed Malt 3. Thurston/Mason County Medical Society - Bio-Terrorism Chemical Warfare Seminar. Date unknown yet. FLU VACCINE: Dr. Trucksess stated that his office had received 500 doses. Steve Kutz stated the Health Department had received 200 doses delivered which were already obligated. More is coming later in the month. Most of the physicians in Shelton have not been able to get the flu vaccine. The for -profit organizations have had no problem in getting vaccines but they are giving the vaccine to everybody who wants it. Steve Kutz gave a report on the bio-terrorism roundtables and exercises. He also stated that there was powder found in a letter this past week. The law enforcement is following up on this. The team dealing with this will find and come to the person. ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH - WATER QUALITY CHANGES: Debbie Riley introduced Kim Lincoln who went through the changes to the Water Quality - Policies and Procedures. Wes Johnson moved to adopt the changes to the Water Quality Policies and Procedures as presented. Bob Holter seconded. Holter, Aye; Johnson, Aye; Baze, Absent.
