A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING A PETITION FOR THE ENLARGEMENT OF THE PORT OF
ALLYN AREA AND SUBMITTING A PROPOSITION TO THE QUALIFIED VOTERS AT
THE GENERAL ELECTION
WHEREAS, the County Auditor received a petition bearing the valid signatures of the
Commissioners of the Port of Allyn petitioning the Board of Mason County Commissioners to
submit to the voters of the territory described below at the next general election the proposition
of enlarging the territorial limits of the Port of Allyn, as provided under RCW 53.04.080; and
LEGAL DESCRIPTION
Beginning at a point where the Mid -channel of Hood Canal intersects with the line
between Ranges 2 and 3 West, W.M. (projected North); run thence South (along said
projection and the Range line), approximately 3 miles to the Southeast corner of section
1, Township 21 North, Range 3 West, W.M., thence 3 miles to the Southeast corner of
Section 4, same Township and Range; thence South one mile to the Southeast corner of
Section 9, Township 21 North, Range 3 West, W.M.; thence West three miles to the corner
common to said Section 7 and Section 12, Township 21 North, Range 4 West, W.M.; run
thence South (along the Range line) two miles to the southeast corner of section 24,
Township 21 North, Range 4 West; W.M.; thence West two miles to the Southwest corner
of Section 23; thence North along the West lines of Section 23 and 14, above Township
and Range, to an intersection with Mid -channel of the Skokomish river; run thence
down Mid -channel of said river in a general Easterly and Northerly direction to
navigable water of Hood Canal; continue thence in a Northeasterly direction to a point
where a line drawn between Bald Point (on North Shore) and the point at Union (on
South Shore) would intersect with the said Mid -channel of Hood Canal; thence continue
along said Mid -channel, in an Easterly and Northerly direction, to the point of
beginning.
WHEREAS, the Auditor presented said petition and a certificate of sufficiency as to the
signers of the petition, per RCW 53.04.080, to the Board; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Mason County Commissioners calls
for the submission of the proposition to the qualified voters of the Union area precincts at the
General Election to be held on November 6, 1990 for their approval or rejection, per RCW
53.04.080.
