RESOLUTION OF AUTHORIZATION TO PURCHASE PROPERTY
FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS, UTILITIES DIVISION
WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works, Utilities Division, requires an
additional strip of land being 300 feet wide as a buffer to the Mason County
Sanitary Landfill , and
WHEREAS the property is located adjacent to the south boundary line of
the said Landfill , and is generally described as follows: the North 300 feet
of the South One-Quarter of the Southeast One-Quarter in Section 4, Township
20 North, Range 4 West, W.M. , and
WHEREAS the Department of Public Works has had independent appraisals to
determine the fair market value of said land and of the standing timber, and
WHEREAS the Department of Public Works, Utilities Division, has offered
the owner of the property, Simpson Timber Company, said fair market value of
$2,600.00 per acre for 18. 18 acres and $12,000.00 for the standing timber on
said acreage, and
WHEREAS Simpson Timber Company has accepted the County' s offer, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Director of Public Works is
authorized to act in behalf of the Board of County Commissioners and is
authorized to sign all necessary documents in the closing of the above
purchase.
