WHEREAS, the awarded contractor on the Belfair-Tahuya Road
(County Road Project 1041) , has commenced work on this project .
The project entails the improvement of approximately 1: 00 mile of
the Belfair-Tahuya Road; and,
WHEREAS, the County Engineer finds the need to dispose of
timber within the county right-of-way during road construction;
and,
WHEREAS, it develops that merchantable timber may be salvaged
to the advantage of the county during the progress of the work;
and,
WHEREAS, the early expeditious removal of the timber from the
right-of-way generated by the above-referenced County Road Project
is essential for marketability of the timber and for the progress
of the road improvement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the County Engineer be
hereby authorized and directed to negotiate for the sale of the
incidental log lots as produced in the course of the work under
County Road Project 1041.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Engineer shall make an
effort to dispose of the timber to the best advantage of Mason
County and shall also keep the Board of County Commissioners
advised on the progress of this activity.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the proceeds from the sale of such
timber logs be deposited in the County Road Fund.
