MASON COUNTY ASSESSOR'S PRESS RELEASE
Today, October 9, 2023, the Assessor's Office received a call from an alarmed constituent in the
Allyn area reporting an encounter on Sunday, October 8, 2023, around 2p.m., with an individual
who claimed to be a volunteer with the Assessor's Office.
The individual was described as approximately 40 years old, slender, around 185 pounds and
riding a KTM-like motorcycle. The individual knew the names of the landowner, but eventually
was asked to leave when he refused to answer the landowner's questions.
This press release is to serve as a reminder that the Assessor's office does not have volunteers,
nor do we work on the weekends. Our field appraisers travel in marked county vehicles and wear
a visible county badge.
