SALE OF TIMBER FROM COUNTY RIGHT-OF-WAY
DALBY ROAD - #58380
COUNTY ROAD PROJECT 1220
WHEREAS, the awarded contractor on the Dal by Road (County Road Project No.
1220) has commenced work on this project. The project entails the improvement
of 1.00 mile of the Dalby Road; and
WHEREAS, the ownership of the timber in the right-of-way was retained by
Mason County; and,
WHEREAS, said construction project requires the contractor to fell said
timber and cold-deck it within the county right-of-way limits of this project;
and,
WHEREAS, the timber cold-decked within the right-of-way is interfering with
the contractor's progress and is obstructing the progress of the utility
companies' relocation of their facilities; and,
WHEREAS, the value of the cold-decked timber may materially deteriorate if
left for an extended period of time.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners deems
the sale and removal of the cold-decked timber from the county right-of-way
within this construction project as an emergency situation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the expeditious sale and removal of said
timber shall be to the best advantage of Mason County.
THEREFORE, the County Engineer is hereby ordered and authorized to
implement the procedures necessary for the expeditious sale and removal of said
timber from the county right-of-way.
