Grapeview, Wa 98546 6/2/23 To: MCHD From: Bob Paysse Re: Olympia Oyster (31921-14-00000) The Olympia Oyster Co. is in the process of seeking a building permit to replace the existing processing plant with new construction. Their expected number of employees on a daily basis is 10. The usage will be employee bathrooms only with toilets and hand washing fixtures and the waste flow strength is not expected to exceed residential levels. The existing system is comprised of a recently replaced 1500 gallon concrete septic tank (2016 see attached) and 130 lin. Ft. drain field x 3' wide totalling 390 sq. ft. installed by R.W. Sharer in Oct. 1994. (see attached) Based on a type 3 soil which is common in this area, the existing system would be good for 312 gpd. (390 sq.ft x .8 application rate = 312 gpd). The EPA manual section 3-7 under industrial building shows an avg. employee gpd of 13. 312 divided by 13 = a maximum number of employees of 24. Based on the above information, the existing septic system should handle the expected wastewater flows q ,;; easily. A recent operation and maintenance inspection report is included with this letter. ..,. a'► • • Robert S: 9HlzL`aevArsSE•• Itt •:. 9 . Washington ;. • - ater treatment systems designer
