Amends and Supersedes Resolution No. 7-86
CREATION OF CENTRAL SERVICES
WHEREAS, Mason County wishes to provide a modern approach to common problems encountered
by the Board of Commissioners, Elected Officials and Department heads.
WHEREAS, the constitutional autonomy of the various County departments can be preserved while
providing all County Elected Officials and Department heads with a centralized department to perform required
functions.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: There is hereby created a department of Central Services within Mason County.
Section 2: Central Services may include, but is not limited to the administration of the following functions:
Monitoring and Processing of the Mason County Budget (including financial analysis)
Personnel and Labor Union/Guild Negotiations
County-Wide Facilities and Grounds Maintenance/Management
County-Wide Insurance and Liability Programs, Risk Management and Safety.
Pursuant to this resolution,the above functions are delegated,however nothing in this document shallbe
construed to restrict the Board of County Commissioners' authority to set policy for these functions of-Mason
County government.
Section 3: Administrators shall be appointed by the Board of County Commissioners to be responsible for the
services provided by the Central Services Departments and as authorized by the Board.
Section 4: These appointed administrators shall be directed by the Board of County Commissioners and shall
serve at the pleasure of the Board.
Section 5: Charges for services rendered by Central Service Departments may be fixed by the Board of County
Commissioners and charged on a monthly basis against the account of the recipient of whom such services were
performed.
