PROPOSITION
FORMATION OF PORT OF UNION
WHEREAS, a petition has been filed with the Board of Commissioners of Mason
County, Washington, pursuant to the provisions of RCW 53.04.023 requesting that said
Board of Commissioners submit to the voters of Mason County, Washington, in conjunction
at a special election, as specified in RCW 29.13.010 (e); the proposition of whether a port
district should be established within the County, known as the Port of Union, with
boundaries described in the attached "Attachment A"; and,
WHEREAS, the Auditor of Mason County, Washington, certified to the Board of
County Commissioners that there were sufficient signatures upon said petition as required
by statute; and,
BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the Board that an election be called and be held
on the 18th day of May, 1993 where a proposition of whether a port district shall be
established in said County known as the Port of Union with boundaries of described in
attached "Attachment A."
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the ballot title to be submitted to the voters
shall read as follows:
Shall a port district known as the Port of Union, be established within Mason
County.
Port of Union - YES
Port of Union - NO
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mason County Auditor will open a three
day special filing period for candidates for Port Commissioner positions.

Beginning at the meander corner on the South Share of Hood Canal ,
which meander corner is common to Section thirty ( 30 ) , Township
22 North, Range 2 West W. 14; and Section twenty-five ( 25 )
Township 22 -North., Range 3 W. M. ; thence South along a line
between Range 2 West and Range 3 West to the Southeast corner of
Section 1 , -Township 21 N, Range 3 West W. M. ; thence West along
the South line of Sections 1 . 2 . 3 , 4 and 5 in said Township and
- Range to the Southwest Corner of Sect-ion 6 , said Township and
Range ; thence Southerly along the Easterly Line of Section 7 ,
said Township and Range , to the Southeast corner of said Section
7 ; thence Westerly along the Southerly boundary of said Section 7
and Section 121 , Township 21N, Range 4 W. W. M. , to the East bank
of the Skokomish River; thence Northerly along the East bank of
said river to Hood Canal ; thence Northerly and Easterly along
