RESOLUTION NO.
IN THE MATTER OF:
A RESOLUTION TO PROMOTE THE PROVISION OF PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICES IN MASON
COUNTY BY THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH SERVICES THROUGH COLLECTION OF FEES RE-
LATED THERETO.
WHEREAS, the Office of Environmental Health provides a variety of solid waste
services related to the issuance of permits, the evaluation of environmental
monitoring data, the investigation of illegal and environmentally damaging
activities, and many of these services and activities provided by Mason
County Department of Health Services are mandated by state law, and
WHEREAS, all activities and services provided by Mason County Department of
Health Services have been determined by the Mason County Board of Health and
Mason County Board of Commissioners to be beneficial to the residents of Ma-
son County, and
WHEREAS, the provision of public health services and activities requires the
collection of fees to compliment other sources of revenue, and the fees es-
tablished herein are necessary in order to maintain the present level of ser-
vice offered by Mason County Department of Health Services, and
WHEREAS, the Mason County Board of Health held a public hearing on November
23, 1994 for the purpose of taking public testimony and to deliberate on an
appropriate recommendation to Mason County Board of Commissioners concerning
the fees established herein, and
WHEREAS, the Mason County Board of Commissioners held public hearings on De-
cember 20 and December 27, 1994 for the purpose of taking public testimony
and to deliberate on action to be taken concerning the fees established here-
in,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, that the Mason County Board of Commis-
sions hereby adopts the fees established herein and referenced as Exhibit A,
Office of Environmental Health Schedule of Solid Waste Fees (Rev. 12/27/94).
The effective date of fees established herein shall be March 1, 1995, except
those fees related to the application and renewal of permits which shall be
effective January 1, 1995.
