DECLARATION OF DISASTER AREA IN MASON COUNTY
WHEREAS, in Mason County unusual weather conditions consisting of extreme
flooding have caused forty-seven (47) people to be evacuated; and
WHEREAS, serious flooding continues to endanger lives and property; and
WHEREAS, the severity and magnitude of this emergency are beyond capability
of local resource, both public and private;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Mason County
Commissioners hereby declare Mason County a disaster area and request the Honorable
Governor of this State of Washington to issue a similar declaration and render all required
and available assistance vital to the security, well-being and health of the citizens of the
State of Washington.
