Community drainfield was installed in 1965 approximately.
There were 4 1200 gallon septic tanks going 1000 gallon pump tank, pumping to a 1200 gallon
septc tank gravity feeding into seven 70' deep trench laterals
It was to serve twelve two bedroom homes
12 homes times two bedroom equals 24 bedrooms
24 bedroom would need to dispose of 3600 GPD
150 GPD was the figure we used in 1965 per bedroom
1.2 was the application rate at that time
3600/1.2 equals 3000 square feet )�\v
There are 7 laterals approximately 70' long
7x70'x3' equals 1470 square feet of required drainfield
System was a deep trench
With 3' under the laterals, the drainfield would be reduced by 50%(typical at this tJ���4
3000 sf time 50% equals 1500 square feet which was 30sf less than was requires' ,+

There is room to install 10 laterals 6451f x 3'=1935sf
9 current two bedroom homes on system
9x2=18 bedrooms at 120GPD=2160 GPD for the nine homes
System would be sand augmented using a 1. application rate would require 2160 sf.
We may be able to install more drainfield once the water main is located. We could also
install large pump tanks for surge capacity.
