A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 30-94, WHICH IMPLEMENTED
INTERIM RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT POLICIES FOR THE SOUTHEAST MASON
COUNTY SUBAREA, TO ALLOW THE DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT TO GRANT A VARIANCE THEREFROM IN CASES OF
DEMONSTRATED HARDSHIP.
WHEREAS,Resolution No.30-94 did not provide a variance procedure for cases of demonstrated hardship;and
WHEREAS, application for a variance should be allowed to be presented in the form of a letter to the Director
describing the specific nature of the hardship;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT:
The Board of Mason County Commissioners hereby amends Resolution No. 30-94 to allow a variance to be
granted by the Director of Community Development, or his designee, if a hardship results from enforcement of
this interim measure; provided that anyone aggrieved by the decision of the Director or designee in approving
or disapproving any variance may appeal the decision to the Board of County Commissioners within twenty(20)
days following the issuance of the decision. Thereafter, the Board, following a public meeting thereon, may
affirm, conditionally affirm, or reverse the Administrator's decision.
Effective date of this amended resolution is July 19, 1994.
