AMENDING CHAPTER 2. 20, EXPENSES OF COUNTY OFFICIALS
AND EMPLOYEES (AND RESOLUTION 18-93 )
TO INCREASE MILEAGE REIMBURSEMENT
WHEREAS, RCW 42 . 24 . 090 states " . . the legislative body of any
municipal corporation or political subdivision of the state may
prescribe by ordinance or resolution the amounts to be paid to
officers or employees thereof as reimbursement for the use of
their personal automobiles or other transportation equipment in
connection with officially assigned duties and other travel for
publicly approved purposes . "
WHEREAS, the Internal Revenue Service ( IRS) allows taxpayers
to use a standard mileage rate of thirty (30) cents per mile for
all business miles driven .
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Mason County Board of
County Commissioners that Chapter 2. 20, Expenses of County
Officials and Employees , and Resolution No. 18-93 be amended as
follows : Mason County fixes the mileage rate for county officers
and employees using their own cars for county business , at not to
exceed thirty (30) cents per mile , to become effective January 1 ,
1996.
ADOPTED this day of December , 1995 .
