Authorizing Application for Funding Assistance for Outdoor Recreation or Habitat Conservation RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPLICATION COUNTY OF MASON RESOLUTION NUMBER: to3 - 95 A resolution authorizing application(s) for funding assistance for an outdoor recreation or habitat conservation project to the Interagency Committee for outdoor recreation as provided by the _Washington Wildlife Recreation Program. WHEREAS, the County Commissioners of the County of Mason has approved a "Comprehensive Park and Recreation Plan" for the county area which identifies a community park on SandHill Road in the northern part of the county near Belfair, Washington; and, WHEREAS, under the provisions of the Washington Wildlife Recreation Program, state funding assistance has been authorized and made available to aid in the financing the cost of land for parks and habitat conservation areas and the construction of outdoor recreational facilities of local public bodies; and, WHEREAS, the County Commissioners of the County of Mason considers it in the best public interest to develop a community park in the northern part of the county generally located north of Hood Canal and north of State Highway 300 - North Shore Road; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the County Commissioners of the County of Mason, State of Washington, 1. That the Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners or another individual be authorized to make formal application to the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation for funding assistance on Sandhill County Park. 2. That any fund assistance so received be used for the development of thirty (30) acres of land in the northern part of the County of Mason, Washington, for Sandhill County Park improvement and development. 3. That the County's share of the project will be derived from a combination of donations and county funds. 4. The County of Mason does hereby certify that the county is responsible to support all non-cash commitments to the local share should they not materialize. 5. That any facility developed with financial aid through the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation be place in use as an outdoor recreation facility and be retained in such use in perpetuity unless as otherwise provided and agreed to by the County Commissioners, the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation, and any affected federal agency, and 6. That this resolution become part of a formal application to the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation. 7. That adequate notification has been given and the opportunity provided for public input and that published notice have identified affected floor plains and/or wetlands, if applicable. 8. That the site plan has been adopted by the local governing body. 9. That the County of Mason does certify that the county is owner of the land to be developed and based on current knowledge, provides assurance there as no encumbrances on the land which would restrict the recreation use of the land as proposed in this application.
