1997 ELECTED OFFICIALS SALARY SCHEDULE
WHEREAS, RCW 36.40.080 states that "... the Board of County Commissioners
shall fix and determine each item of the budget separately and shall by resolution adopt
the budget ..."
WHEREAS, the fixing of elected officials' salaries is an integral part of the
budgeting process.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners recognizes the value of an
equitable salary schedule for the elected officials of Mason County;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the Board of County
Commissioners does hereby establish 1997 elected officials' salaries as follows:
The salary for Assessor, Auditor, Clerk, and Treasurer shall be 95% of the salary
for Commissioner.
The salary for Coroner shall be 50% of the salary for Assessor, Auditor, Clerk,
and Treasurer.
The salary for Sheriff shall be 12% greater than the salary for Commissioner.
The 1997 salary for Prosecutor shall be 3% greater than the 1996 salary (the
same increase approved for non-union employees).
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board of County Commissioners does
hereby approve the 1997 Elected Official salary schedule effective January 1, 1997
(Attachment A which is hereby incorporated as part of this resolution).
