AGREEMENT
This agreement between Mason County, hereinafter referred to as "COUNTY," and Mason County
Shelter, a nonprofit organization, hereinafter referred to as the "SHELTER."
W I T N E S S E T H :
That in consideration of the terms and conditions contained herein, the parties hereto covenant and
agree as follows:
I. The SHELTER agrees to provide one or more of the following services to qualified dislocated
timber/salmon applicants servicing approximately five (5) families (households).
A. Emergency residential rental/mortgage assistance to maintain housing.
B. Utilities assistance (i.e. gas, electricity, firewood)
C. Property tax to maintain housing.
11. Brian Kerr, Washington State Employment Security, is an authorized agent to recommend
qualified applicants for this program.
III. The SHELTER will hold the COUNTY harmless from all claims of every kind and character arising
out of or in any way connected with the services given by it for the COUNTY.
IV. The COUNTY will advance $1,250 of timber funds under DSHS Contract (Mason County FID
Number + 4895) to the SHELTER upon receipt of said funds; and the balance not to exceed $1,250 will be
remitted on the 15th of the month upon submittal of a report showing authorized expenditures for services
performed under this contract. Funds paid for such services will be used to furnish only the services
contemplated by this contract and will not be diverted by the SHELTER to any other person or used for any
other purpose; with the exception that no more than ten percent of the total expenditure ($2,500 X .10 =
$250.00) may be applied to defray administrative and/or indirect costs. SHELTER records of receipt and
expenditure of such funds will be made available on request by County officials and the State Auditor for
review.
V. Expenditure of the $2,500 funds shall terminate on June 30, 1996.
VI. The SHELTER will submit a final report to the COUNTY by July 15, 1996 specifying the exact
amount of monies expended and numbers of households served for each authorized activity.
