E IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS,
MASON COUNTY, WASHINGTON, AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Mason County have met and
considered the Current Expense Budget for the calendar year 1998; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Mason County Commissioners, in the course of
considering the Current Expense Budget for 1998 have reviewed all sources of revenue
and examined all anticipated expenses and obligations; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Mason County Commissioners have determined that,
due to the increased costs of mandated criminal justice services and reduced forest tax and
sales tax revenues, there is a substantial need to increase the regular property tax levy rate
above the rate of inflation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Mason County
Commissioners that the limit factor for the regular levy for the Current Expense Fund for
the calendar year 1998 shall be 4.1% of the highest amount of regular property taxes that
could have been lawfully levied in Mason County in any year since 1985.
