All wall sheathing shall be 1/2" CDX plywood or 7/16" OSB, or as
called out below, with exterior exposure glue and span rated "SR
24/0" or better. (5/8" T1-11 siding is an acceptable substitution
except where 1/2" or thicker sheathing is specifically called out
in the schedule below)
All nails shall be 8d box (0.113 inch diameter), 10d box (0.128
inch diameter), or 10d common (0.148 inch diameter). Nail size
and spacing at all sheathing edges shall be as required below or as
shown on the drawings. Nail spacing shall be 12" on center for all
field nailing except as noted.
Hold-downs shall be Simpson "Strong Tie" or United Steel Products
Company "Kant -Sag" and shall be installed per the manufacture's
recommendation.
All double and triple studs (ALLOWED PER HOLDOWN SCHEDULE) shall be
nailed together with (2) rows l0d's staggered at 4" on center each
row for each layer.
ALL SHEARWALL FRAMING LUMBER SHALL BE HEM -FIR #2 OR BTR MATERIAL.
SHEATHING PANEL JOINTS LOCATED ACROSS STUD WALLS SHALL HAVE THEIR
FREE EDGES BLOCKED WITH NOMINAL THICKNESS MATERIALS THAT MATCH THE
EDGE NAILING MEMBER REQUIREMENTS ABOVE!
MULTIPLE 2X STUDS ARE NOT AN ACCEPTABLE SUBSTITUTION FOR 3X6, 4X6,
OR 6X6 FRAMING MEMBER CALLOUTS!

HOLDOWN SCHEDULE
LTT2OB attaches to concrete foundation with a 5/8" dia. bolt with
10" minimum embedment into concrete. LTT2OB attaches to
double studs with (10) 16d common nails in wall above.
HTT16 attaches to concrete foundation with a 5/8" dia. bolt with
12" minimum embedment into concrete. HTT16 attaches to
double studs with (18) 16d nails in wall above.
HPAHD22 attatches to form before pouring with 10" minimum embedment
into concrete and attatches to 3x member in wall above with
(24) 16d common nails or (4) 1/2" dia. bolts.
STHD8 OR STHD8RJ embeds a minimum of 8 inches into concrete
foundation and to a 4X stud with (24) 16d sinker nails in
wall above.
STHD10 OR STHD1ORJ embeds a minimum of 10 inches into concrete
foundation and to a 4X stud with (28) 16d sinker nails in
wall above.

found among the drawings, these notes, and the site
shall be reported to the Engineer, who shall cor
discrepancy in writing. Any work done by the Contra(

Foundation
1. All footings shall be founded on native undistui

Concrete & Reinforcing Steel:
1. All concrete work shall be per the 1997 UBC Chal

2. All reinforcing shall be ASTM A615 Grade 40 for
