RESOLUTION NO. rJ
|n the matter ofrequesting EUD designation for the Columbia Pacific RC&O
WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration, is
authorized tn create regional Economic Development Districts; and
WHEREAS, these Economic Development Districts are designed to provide a regional approach
in addressing income and employment problems; and
WHEREAS, the Governor of each state must request the U.S. Department of Commerce,
Economic Development Administration to designate an Economic Development District; and
WHEREAS, the Columbia Pacific Resource Conservation and Development Council has acted
as an economic development district as a result of an interlocal agreement among Grays Harbor,
Pacific, Mason and VVahkiahum. Counties;
IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the Mason County Board of Commissioners requests Governor
Gary Locke to request from the U. S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development
Administration, that The Columbia-Pacific Resource Conservation and Development Council be
officially designated as on Economic Development District.
