AMENDING CHAPTER 2. 20 , MASON COUNTY CODE,
EXPENSES OF COUNTY OFFICIALS AND EMPLOYEES ®
TO ESTABLISH MILEAGE REIMBURSEMENT
WHEREAS , RCW 42 . 24 . 090 states - - the legislative body
of any municipal corporation or political subdivision of the
state may prescribe by ordinance or resolution the amounts
to be paid to officers or employees thereof as reimbursement
for the use of their personal automobiles or other
transportation equipment in connection with officially
assigned duties and other travel for publicly approved
purposes. "
WHEREAS , the Internal Revenue Service ( IRS ) allows
taxpayers to use a standard mileage rate for all business
miles driven;
NOW THEREFORE , BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Board of
Mason County Commissioners that the amount to be paid to
Mason County officers or employees as reimbursement for the
use of their personal automobiles or other transportation
equipment in connection with officially assigned duties and
other travel for publicly approved purposes shall be the
Internal Revenue Service (IRS ) standard mileage rate for all
business miles driven.
