WHEREAS, on October 4, 1994 the Mason County Board of
Commissioners approved and adopted Resolution No. 106A-94 which
established Solid Waste Facility and Drop Box Station Rates; and
WHEREAS, the rates were established to meet maintenance and
operation costs and to provide required capital for post closure
costs, administration, recycling programs, hazardous waste
programs, and the cost associated with transportation of solid
waste to an out of county location; and
WHEREAS, the Commissioners held a public hearing on October 4,
1994, and received public input; and
WHEREAS, the rate set, in Resolution No. 106A-94, for
refrigerator units was $31 . 50 ; and
WHEREAS, the cost associated with disposal of refrigerator units
and the freon contained therein has since decreased to $15 . 00 per
unit; and
WHEREAS, Mason County feels that this cost savings should be
passed onto the users of the facilities .
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that;
1 . The fee set in Resolution No. 106A-94 for refrigerators
is herein lowered to $15 . 00 through February 27, 1998,
at which time the costs associated with disposal will
again be evaluated.
2 . The effective date of this Resolution is March 15,
1997 .
3 . The remaining rate structure established, in Resolution
No. 106A-94 are not impacted by this change and remain
in full effect .
