A RESOLUTION continuing Mason County Interim Resource Ordinance, Ordinance 77-93, as
amended, on an interim basis.
WHEREAS, the Mason County Interim Resource Ordinance No. 77-93 was adopted on August
3, 1993; and
WHEREAS, the Mason County Comprehensive Plan was adopted on April2, 1996; and
WHEREAS, the Mason County Resource Ordinance, Section 17.01.220, states that this Chapter
shall expire within one year after adoption of a comprehensive plan, pursuant to RCW 36.70A;
and
WHEREAS, the Western Washington Growth Management Hearings Board, invalidated portions
of said comprehensive plan in its Final Decision and Order, dated December 5, 1999, Case 96-2-
0023, and
WHEREAS, the county wishes to avoid any uncertainty that the Interim Resource Ordinance
remains in effect; and
WHEREAS, the Mason County Board of Commissioners adopted Resolution No. 18-97,
Resolution No. 96-97, and Resolution No. 17-98 to enact a six month extensions of the Interim
Resource Ordinance and assure its continued effectiveness;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT: the Board of County Commissioners of Mason
County hereby adopts an interim measure which re-enacts and continues the Interim Resource
Ordinance, #77-93, and amendments thereto, until April 2, 1999.
During the period of this interim measure, the Mason County shall proceed with the public process
appropriate to consider the removal of Section 17.01.220 from the Interim Resource Ordinance,
thus removing the sun-setting provision.
