Amending County Building Permit Fee RESOLUTION NO . 33 -98 AMENDING OF THE MASON COUNTY BUILDING PERMIT FEE SCHEDULE IN THE MATTER OF : Amending the Mason County Building Permit Fee Schedule to establish standard procedures of the Mason County Building Department, a division of the Mason County Permit Assistance Center, in the valuation and assessment of fees applicable to all permits required under The Mason County Code, Title 14 . WHEREAS, The Mason County Board of Commissioners adopted a three (3) year fee schedule with increment adjustments annually for the years 1996, 1997, 1998 under Ordinance 37-96 Section 14 . 08 . 090 ; and WHEREAS, The Director of the newly created Mason County Permit Assistance Center conducted fee surveys and budgetary research which found the fee schedule previously adopted to be deficient to cover costs within the Building Department ; and WHEREAS, a proposed fee schedule was created and input solicited from the Mason County Home Builders Association and an information sharing workshop provided in the North Mason area; and WHEREAS, the Mason County Board of Commissioners held a public hearing on March 31, 1998 to receive public comments and finalize the text of the Mason County Fee Schedule; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT: The Mason County Board of Commissioners hereby amend and adopt the Mason County Building Permit Fee Schedule, attached hereto as Exhibit A, which establishes the standard procedures for the valuation and assessment of fees for all required permits under Title 14 of the Mason County Code; the fees shall apply to all permit applications filed on or after May 1, 1998 . This category shall include all other required permits for which no fee is specifically indicated. *Fees are based upon 1997 ICBO Building Standards Valuation Data Recommendations with . 88 modifier PERMIT FEES The permit fees for each permit shall be as set forth in Table 1-A of the 1994 Uniform Building Code. All Plumbing and Mechanical permits fees shall be as established by those codes. PLAN REVIEW FEES Plan review fees shall be assessed per Section 107 .3 of the 1994 Uniform Building Code and paid at the time of submitting the submittal documents for plan review. Such fee shall be 65% of the building permit fee established and shown under Table 1-A of the 1994 Uniform Building Code. Plan review fees for Non-Residential Energy Code Compliance shall be established at the rate of $42 . 00 per hour, 1/2 hour minimum and shall be paid at the time of permit issuance.
