Extending Ord. 77-93 Interim Resource Ordinance RESOLUTION NUMBER 17 - 98 A RESOLUTION extending the Mason County Interim Resource Ordinance, Ordinance 77-93, as amended, for a period of six months on an interim basis, under the authority of Chapter 36.70A RCW. WHEREAS, the Mason County Interim Resource Ordinance No. 77-93 was adopted on August 3, 1993, creating a new Chapter 17.01 in the Mason County Code, and has since been amended; and WHEREAS, the Mason County Comprehensive Plan was adopted on April 2, 1996; and WHEREAS, the Mason County Resource Ordinance, Section 17.01.220, states that this Chapter shall expire within one year after adoption of a comprehensive plan; and WHEREAS, the Mason County Board of Commissioners adopted Resolution No. 18-97 on March 4, 1997, and Resolution No. 96-97 on August 26, 1997 to enact a six month extensions of the Interim Resource Ordinance and its amendments; and WHEREAS, said ordinance was extended on an interim basis pending resolution of issues before the Western Washington Growth Management Hearings Board, which issues have not been resolved; and WHEREAS, the extension approved by Resolution 96-97 stands ready to expire, but the ordinance contains critical area and resource land development regulations which should not be allowed to lapse: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT: the Board of County Commissioners of Mason County hereby enacts a six month interim measure which extends the Interim Resource Ordinance, #77-93, and amendments thereto. During the period of this interim measure, the Mason County Department of Community Development shall continue to work on responses to those issues found out of compliance and will also conduct public hearings which will provide those interested with the opportunity to testify for or against the proposed responses to the Western Washington Growth Management Hearings Board's Orders.
