Alder Street Belfair, WA 98528 RE: RESERVE AREA DESIGNATION FOR 61 NE WAGON WHEEL RD,TAX PARCEL ID#222025402009 To whom it may concern, This letter is to serve as a brief project narrative and provide justification for the proposed reserve drainfield area located at the above-mentioned address.The project proposes to construct a garage/office with full bathroom. Wastewater generated within the proposed structure will be delivered to the existing onsite septic system through the primary dwelling units existing plumbing. At the request of Mason County Public Health, two test holes were excavated and evaluated to establish a reserve drainfield on November 6, 2022.Test hole locations were selected based on required setbacks to site features such as property lines, drainages, and surface waters. Please see attached site plan for reserve area location and soil profiles. The following figures have been used to determine the daily design flow for the proposed reserve area: (120gal/day * 2 bedrooms) = 240 gal/day. Based on the proposed design flows and soil characteristics, the minimum area required for effluent dispersal can be determined using the following calculation: (240 gpd/.6) =400 sq/ft. Please see attached site plan for additional dispersal component sizing details. Given the available area, soils, and slope (0-3%) of the proposed reserve drainfield, I trust that an alternative system meeting Treatment Level B would be suitable to serve the single-family residence with a two-bedroom capacity.
