SUBJECT: Reaume Land Use Application on Tacoma Power Property
Dear Ms. Hersha:
The City of Tacoma, Department of Public Utilities, Light Division (Tacoma Power) was recently
notified of an application to Mason County by Steve Reaume to permit after-the-fact concrete
piling supports associated with a previously permitted shoreline dock structure located on
Tacoma Power's property at Lake Cushman. Mr. Reaume currently sub-leases the adjacent
property (Mason County Parcel Nos. 42329-41-60030) which is also owned by Tacoma Power
and leased to the Lake Cushman Development Company. Tacoma Power has received and
reviewed an application from Steve Reaume seeking to permit the existing shoreline structure
associated with this lot.
Tacoma Power offers the following comments on the County permit application:
JARPA:
1. Part 4 and 5a should show Tacoma Power as the property owner as the structure is located
below 742 feet elevation, which is outside of Mr. Reaume's development lot.
2. Piling should be marked in 6d.
3. Part 8 should be filled out. The ACOE will need the information required in 8e to issue their
permit.
4. Part 10 should have USACOE Section 404 checked.
Tacoma Power has no objection to the proposed action and authorizes Mason County to permit
the after-the-fact structure work on Tacoma Power's property as conveyed to Tacoma Power in
the application to us and subsequent communication regarding these structures. Tacoma
Power will issue a permit for the structures after a Cultural Resources Survey is completed and
the structures are permitted by Mason County and the Army Corps of Engineers.
Please contact me at 253-502-8782 or bforrest(a-)ci.tacoma.wa.us if you have any questions or
need something more regarding this matter.
Sincerely,

Purpose of checklist.
Governmental agencies use this checklist to help determine whether the environmental impacts of your
proposal are significant. This inform ati n is also helpful to determine if available avoidance, minimization
or compensatory mitigation measures ill address the probable significant impacts or if an environmental
impact statement will be prepared to f i Oher analyze the proposal.
Instructions for applicants: 'net
This environmental checklist asks yo to describe some basic information about your proposal. Please
answer each question accurately and refully,to the best of your knowledge. You may need to consult
with an agency specialist or private c sultant for some questions. You may use"not applicable" or
"does not a I "onl when ou can lain wh it does not ap plyand not when the answer is unknown.
You may also attach or incorporate b reference additional studies reports. Complete and accurate
answers to these questions often av i delays with the SEPA process as well as later in the decision-
making process.
checklist questions apply to all pclrtS of your proposal, even if you plan to do them over a period of

or its environmental effects. The agency to which you submit this checklist may ask you to explain your
answers or provide additional information reasonably related to determining if there may be significant
adverse impact.
instructions for Lead Agencies:
Please adjust the format of this template as needed. Additional information may be necessary to
evaluate the existing environment, al interrelated aspects of the proposal and an analysis of adverse
impacts. The checklist is considere the first but not necessarily the only source of information needed to
make an adequate threshold determination. Once a threshold determination is made, the lead agency is
responsible for the completeness and accuracy of the checklist and other supporting documents.
