Dear Sir or Madam:
The permit referenced above issued October 16, 1998 included
two parts: a rock bulkhead which was completed some time ago on
the south half of the property and a concrete retaining wall that
has not yet been constructed on the north half of the property.
The reason for to delay in construction of the concrete
retaining wall was that' an architect was employed to draw up plans
for a residence that will sit behind the concrete retaining wall
and to allow this professional to work the concrete retaining wall
into the overall design of the residence. This has now been
completed and a building permit application for the residence has
been submitted. The proposed design of the concrete retaining
wall has been modified to follow the contour of the front yard of
the residence rather than running in a continuous line. A
modification of this permit will be requested to accommodate this
proposed change as soon as the engineering is completed on the new
retaining wall design.
When the application was initially made for this permit, Ms .
Bennett-Cummins advised that there was a "two year window to do
the wall from the date of permit approval" . That time period is
coming to an end this fall and I request that this permit be
allowed to be extended past that time-frame to allow the concrete
retaining wall to be constructed with the residence.
